About Xylos
Travel people.
Forex people. One venture.
Xylos was born from a simple observation: the industry that brings the world to Africa deserved foreign exchange built for the way it actually works.
The Story
Why Xylos exists.
Every year, the world's travellers send meaningful sums into South Africa, and the businesses who host them send meaningful sums back out. Most of it moves through channels never designed for travel: opaque rates, slow settlement, and paperwork left to the client.
Xylos is powered by Future Forex and holds an exclusive licence from Future Forex, the award-winning, SARB-approved foreign-exchange platform, for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry, covering every inflow and outflow between South Africa and the rest of the world. Xylos does not hold any financial services licences of its own. The venture was formed with a group of international travel-industry principals through its Mauritius-registered entity.
The result is a rare pairing: a platform proven across regulated cross-border flows, run by people who have spent their careers inside the travel industry itself.
Leadership
Who leads Xylos.
Scholtz Fourie
Scholtz leads Xylos after nearly a decade as Group Chief Financial Officer of Tourvest, South Africa's foremost travel management group, which he joined in 2016. There he steered the group's finances through digital transformation, implementing a cloud ERP across the business without missing a reporting cycle and spearheading Travel IT, Tourvest's proprietary booking technology, and through the industry's hardest years, repositioning the group as a travel technology company. He began his career at Omnia, rising from internal auditor to commercial director, including six years leading commercial operations from Mauritius. Few people alive have seen both the travel industry's money and its machinery this close up.
Adam Sack
Adam is Chief Commercial Officer for Forex at Future Forex, where he leads the commercial growth of the award-winning fintech's foreign-exchange business. As a Partner at Xylos, he brings deep experience in cross-border payments and client partnerships to the venture's relationships across the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
How We Work
Three commitments.
Craft
Cross-border money is detail work. We treat purpose codes, clearances and settlement timing the way a great lodge treats its guest experience: nothing left to chance.
Transparency
One all-inclusive fee, quoted before you commit. If we can't show you the whole price, we don't deserve the transaction.
Discretion
Our clients' affairs are their own. Data is protected under POPIA, conversations are confidential, and service is personal: a named specialist, not a queue.
We'd like to hear where your money travels.
Tell us about your flows, and we'll tell you exactly how we'd handle them.
